Mustang Facility Expansion Well Under Way

Twinsburg, Ohio – Plans to add additional manufacturing space to the US headquarters of Mustang Dynamometer and Mustang Advanced Engineering are well under way, with the project scheduled for completion sometime in late January, 2011. The expansion plans, announced in August, call for an additional 31,000 square foot of manufacturing space to be added to the Company’s existing manufacturing facility. The additional space will include 3 new high bay manufacturing cells, each equipped with a 20 ton and a 10 ton overhead crane to facilitate construction of the larger scale equipment that the Mustang Advanced Engineering division designs and builds. Some of the larger equipment that MAE builds which requires this additional space are wind turbine gearbox test stands and large multi-axle AC chassis dynamometers for military and industrial vehicle testing applications. In addition to adding manufacturing floor space, the expansion plan also calls for several specialized engine and powertrain test cells to be added to the facility to allow the Company to lease testing facilities as well as to perform internal product development activities in an engine and powertrain test lab environment. “The expanded facilities will give Mustang the required resources needed to aggressively pursue a number of new market opportunities”, Said Eser Manav, Vice president of operations. “Over the last 10 years we have manufactured over 10,000 dynamometers in our existing factory, and with the company’s business model shifting emphasis to the more custom designed, highly-engineered MAE product line, the new floor space and the on-site laboratory facilities will enable us to efficiently manufacture these larger scale projects and continue to develop and refine our MAE product offerings”. “The latest state-of-the-art resources in the new factory will allow Mustang to become the most cost efficient in the industry, while still allowing us to service our existing markets with the same level of consistency that our customers demand”, stated Robert Callan, Chief Financial Officer. “This expansion plan, during what is being called “The Great Recession”, says an awful lot about the strength of Mustang as a company and our confidence in the future of our business model.” said President and CEO, Dean Ganzhorn. “Mustang’s ability to weather three major economic recessions since the mid 1980’s, with uninterrupted growth in our business, is due in large part to our diversity as a company and our focus on providing very specialized products and services to a broad and global customer base.” Mustang Dynamometer and Mustang Advanced Engineering are located in Twinsburg, Ohio where they have been based since 1986.
