Mustang Dynamometer Awarded Certified AWD 48” Chassis Dynamometer Testing Service Contract   

Mustang Dynamometer announced that it has received a contract for certified AWD Chassis Dynamometer Testing Services.  The testing services will currently be performed at Mustang Dynamometer Laboratory #2 location.

These testing services will consist of vehicle R&D work, hybrid vehicle testing, complete diagnostic, emission, fuel economy and vehicle mileage accumulation and performance testing on a EPA Certified AWD 48” Roll Chassis Dynamometer.  The unit design will be modular so 2WD and AWD testing can be performed on one unit.

• 200 HP AC Motor (inverter duty)
  in the middle
• AC IGBT flux vector control drives
  with full power regeneration
• Automatic roll covers
• Automatic articulating floor (Wheel
  Base Range: 80” to 230”)
• Automatic wheel centering devices
  plus vehicle left
• State-of-the-art vehicle restraint systems

These testing services are also available to other companies interested in using this State of the Art Chassis Dynamometer System and for demonstrations.  We welcome anyone to visit Mustang for a full demonstration. The unit will be completely integrated with the following control features:

The system is capable of functioning in five (5) modes (check Mustang’s website for more details):
- A four wheel dynamometer, using front and rear rolls independent separation
- A two wheel dynamometer, using the rear rolls
- A two wheel dynamometer, using the front rolls
- A single axle commercial vehicle dynamometer using the rear rolls
- A tandem axle commercial vehicle dynamometer using both front rolls and rear rolls

The system will be meet all EPA specifications and fit into any OEM or current manufacturing program.  As this unit is modular, it can easily replace existing, older dynamometer systems.  The design of Mustang’s AWD Dynamometer will easily allow existing 2WD Chassis Dynamometers, even another manufacturer’s units, to be upgraded to a new AWD. Due to Mustang’s technology, most systems can be easy integrated into an existing testing network.
