The MD-AWD-IMP Series offers a large 42″ diameter roller configuration in either a fixed or adjustable wheelbase design.AWD-IMP Series allows for precision tuning on lightweight AWD vehicles and accurate elapsed time simulations for cars with modified chassis characteristics. For applications that demand high horsepower measurement capability, the AWD-IMP delivers with a measurement capacity of 5,500 hp and an absorption capacity of 1,200 hp (DE model).

The AWD-IMP Series dynamometer is available with a number of optional configurations to meet varying customer requirements. With the GB version, front to rear roll speed synchronization is achieved via an OEM grade gear and driveline based transmission. Unlike other products on the market which employ sloppy off-the-shelf truck differentials or, worse yet, no transmission at all, Mustang’s transmission uses two industrial strength, near-zero backlash gears coupled via an oversized driveline. Wheelbase adjustment is achieved electrically.

Non-connected roller sets are dangerous, and have been known to cause damage to center differentials. Moreover, our linked roller sets make testing vehicles with traction control possible – which is not the case with non-linked roller sets.

Mustang also offers a fixed wheelbase version of the AWD-IMP Series that can accommodate AWD vehicles with wheelbase ranging from  86-120″ without any moving parts thanks to the large 42″ rollers.

The AWD-IMP can simulate 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile drag racing – even when launching the vehicle just like at the drag strip. When matched with our optional Xmas tree, the AWD-IMP records times to go along with your ET and MPH.

Switching between AWD and 2WD is handled automatically via an air actuated de-coupler, making the AWD-IMP Series a very versatile dyno with excellent inertia and performance characteristics.

Transmission/Wheelbase Adjust: Twin low backlash right angle gears connected via large slipping driveline (GB Version). Automatic Disengage is standard.
Roll Decelerator: Allows vehicle deceleration without use of vehicle brakes. Eddy Current PAU used to decelerate rollers.
