MD-7000 Control Platform - Timing Tests |
Quarter Mile Sprint |

This test allows the operator to simulate a quarter mile sprint race on the dynamometer. Elapsed time & speed values are provided for 60 feet, 100, 200, 300 & 400 yards points, as well as the final quarter mile values. |
200 Yard Roll-On |

Running 200 yard roll-on test consists of accelerating as hard as possible through a speed window that starts at a specified starting speed, until the test completes when the vehicle has "traveled" 200 yards. During this test, the vehicle experiences the same loading it would experience on a flat, windless road. The system reports the maximum velocity attained at 200 yards, and the time required to cover the 200 yards. |
Standing Start Acceleration |

This test allows the operator to time a simulated standing start acceleration to an operator specified speed (e.g. 60 MPH) on the dynamometer. The software considers the starting time to be the point at which system speed exceeds 1.0 MPH. At the end of testing, time to speed and distance at speed are reported. |
Passing Acceleration |

The Passing Acceleration test allows the operator to time a simulated passing acceleration from one operator specified speed (e.g. 40 MPH) to another operator specified speed (e.g. 60 MPH) on the dynamometer. At the end of testing, time to speed and distance at speed are reported. This test can be extremely useful in diagnosing drivability complaints as well as top-end acceleration evaluations. |
All of the timing tests available with the MD-7000 software package use our patented Virtual Inertia™ Technology. The term “Virtual Inertia” means that dynamometer control software takes into consideration the test vehicle’s weight and aerodynamic characteristics to apply the exact loading to simulate actual “real world” driving conditions. So the result you see on the dynamometer are nearly identical to the results you will see on the road or track.
